Hey can someone spec out a very basic PC for me? It's for my dad and his in home office, it will mostly be for basic work (Such as word processing, web browsing, etc), but he cares about aesthetic and silence. Would do it myself but I wanna see some other perspective (along with dealing with the Las Vegas aftermath), Max budget is maybe $750ish, he was looking at Mac's but he's been on PC his whole life. Also needs a monitor, and speaker set.

If it matters his desk has a matte silver frame with a fogged glass top that has a green tint to it.

For perspective where's he will be coming from his PC has a Pentium 4 and a 4:3 monitor. It will be a suprise gift for him.

(Pic is his desk, just finished setting it up as he moved last night)

Just buy a reconditioned office machine, max out its ram and stuff a gpu in there. it'll be fine.

If he isn't doing anything major with it a Quad atom mini pc would do it, totally silent too.

Alternatively an Asrock Q1900dc-itx (fanless ITX board/cpu with a dc power input (laptop brick would do it), just need ram, storage and a tiny case
