did you restart the steam application before you verifiy the files? this is a shorter fix. i dont know why it fixes it but this happens to me all the time

You must have that game on a HHD I have mine on SSD and it loads instant lol

And if it doesn't work
Just restart again and try!

sounds like you are missing required runtime library . use file explorer go to where steam games are installed \steamapps\common and find that game aand inside that file folder will be a redist folder, run the installer for visual c library and you should be good

sometimes the steam installer doesnt get it right, which is why they always have the directx installer (dxsetup.exe) and the visual c installer in that commonredist folder so you can run those manually if need be. If all your games open but 1, that is usually the culprit. its missing a required direct x or visual c runtime file.

Open task manager and completely close steam then try
