Does anyone know if my fiancée and I can both simultaneously play the Splatoon 2 Splatfest tomorrow (splitting the joy-cons), or will we have to take turns? (We only have one switch)

Months ago when they did the beta test fire if I remember correctly it was only 1 player at a time. Not sure if this will be the same way or not. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Think it wouldn't work very well, i was going to wait to buy my console and my partner got his day 1 but when splatoon 2 got it's release date we bought a second instantly.

How would you aim using split joy cons?

You need a full controller in order to play the game. The demo is single player only. The full game should be spilt screen.
But again you need a full controller. 2 joycons, or a pro controller per player.
