Well Nvidia said that because vega was basically a flop, they have no need to rush and finish Volta. So it could be quite some time still. (Means they have more time to improve it as well)

VRAM can be used a gimmick or selling point. The R9 390 (a decent card) has 8 GB but cannot max 1440p. 4 GB would have been plenty.

i do not think i will be buying volta nvidia have been fucking useless to me. pascal has had nothing but problems their answer is to release lots and lots of cards and never actually fixing the current cards. some people cannot even watch netflix on a 1080 or a 1070..... i cannot even watch youtube.... i put in a 950 works like a dream...
