Both. Balanced with value for money and power draw. And strong IPC.

But if your question is would I prefer Kaby Lake or Ryzen at a given price point (say the highlighted r5 1500x) ... then I'll take the r5 1500x over an i5 7500 thanks.

More cores with decent IPC/clocks. A Ryzen 5 1600 should be enough for what I do now but the 1700 will last longer so I'm leaning towards the 1700 to upgrade my i7 3770s
