I never knew they didn't eat out of render distance, but I've left my babies before and they were fine so I'd assume so

Thats never changed as far as i know they've always eaten if they have food or a trough.

I've been having a problem with them going into stasis and dying when I leave and I've seen some other people having the same problem

Never had that problem, but furthest i'll go is a local meat run i spend most of my time, sat staring at em lol
