Anyone on here use a program called ableton? It's a music making program. Just curious as too how hard it is on your system? Friend wants me to build him a computer and that's the main thing he will be using it for. Any suggestions on what cpu to get?

16 gb of RAM and a good processor. I've been using it for years.

I'd prioritise the CPU, then an M.2 drive then 16-32gb of RAM (it's pretty cheap so I'd just go the 32gb). A high end CPU will ensure he gets the most out of running a ton of tracks with effect racks etc. without running into audio issues (crackles and such). The M.2 drive is to save his sanity when saving or loading in projects, library assets etc. I had Ableton linked up to an external mechanical drive at one point and it was painful to say the least.
