if you need to go above 6dB with any headphone using an equalizer the headphones are trash.

Why spend all dat dough for a card and headphones when you can buy a full size 5.1 home theater system for like $500? No uncomfortable crap on your head and you get actual real bass... Never understood the whole gaming headset thing... I guess if you like live in an apartment and neighbors complain about noise...

Most gaming motherboards already have fairly decent stock audio. Sound cards are nearly redundant unless you're an audiophile of audio engineer
