Why is the Wii Shop Channel removing the ability to add funds late March this year despite the plans to shut it down in 2019?

Probably moving over to the nintendo funds (whatever there calling it)

It's not connected to the Nintendo network servers. Servers cost money you know but it is sad that's it's being shut down

I transferred all of my games from the wii to the Wii U. There was a little cost to it. Like a dollar per game I think.
