Press square before a shot to toggle power mode...you gain extra yardage at the expense of making the shot less stable.

My power mode was 2. It is now 3. So presumably it means it's more powerful now than when it was 2.

No graham, it's not more powerful it's the number of times you can choose to use a power shot to add extra distance.

Though if it's like out of bounds you can choose a power shot even if it's 0, but if you miss PI it's an automatic skull shot

Number of power shots available in a nine hole round.

It means you can hit square (I think) and get extra distance on your shot. Has to be drive or an iron shot that's not an approach. The number is how many you have available to you.
