Just updated my ark haven't played in a long time. What does must ascend to beta and gamma level before accessing this ark mean

Ascension is the end boss on the island. Like the other bosses it has 3 levels of difficulty, Gamma being the easiest, Alpha being the hardest. You have to ascend to Gamma level to access The Centre and Beta to access Ragnarok (for single player). You can still play any map on official or dedicated servers without completing ascension.

Go into a solo came and open the admin commands tab. Then type in playercommand Ascend3. Good to go.
