I think it is. As long as you get 144hz or more. 1ms response time.

Just make sure you have a graphics card that can support it at stable FPS.

I have a 980Ti and it can only barely put out high FPS at 1440 max on demanding games.

On CSGO though, an easy 144 FPS+

Yeah, 1440p lets you put down AA settings, due to more pixels. Less AA, more FPS.

Upgrade only if you need more screen real estate for mutli-tasking, editing programs etc. But for gaming I personally don't see a difference. PLUS, you need a stronger card to keep up with getting the max settings for your 1440p resolution.

If you primarily are a gamer then upgrade to a 120hz/144hz monitor at 1080p or higher. You'll notice the difference more and to me it is SIGNIFICANT, especially for FPS type of games.

1080p to 1440p is worth it, yes. 1440p to 4k is not

If you can afford a 1080ti to fuel the 1440p ultrawide then it's good.

Interesting thread I'm looking for a 27"-34" 2k monitor as well. G sync makes monitors stupid expensive though. Gonna have to suck it up though and drop $700...

not really its a waste of money and you wont see a big change it is far better to go to 4k or stay in 1080
