I have a 1TB black and it isn't any louder than any other drive. If you want quiet get a SSD

As far ad mechanical drives go the only thing I've heard that's really loud are the 15k RPM Seagate cheetas

I will prefer Seagate FireCuda to it. I use WD REDs for the storagem, and 2 TB FireCuda for games. Very good, silent and fast drive. Gets 240 mb/s at the big file read/write....

i have 4tb one on full load it is kinda loud
i also have a gold one which is faster kinda the same price and not that loud
