Getting my first PC back from my best friend. I let him have it to play basic games and he doesnt have time for it so hes giving it back. Just want opinions on some old CPU’s to do a small upgrade on it.

Its and AM3+ build here are some specs i remember on it.

MSI 970 Gaming Am3+ DDR3 Mobo
AMD FX-6100 CPU
8 GB Ram
GTX 660 i believe?
250gb hd
120gb SSD
750w PSU
Hyper Cooler

Dont have full details on it right now, but just wondering if upgrading the the FX-8350 would be worth the $115 upgrade? Or should i just put more into the GPU?

You should be able to get an 8350 much cheaper than that. I sold mine a couple years back for 80. Lol

Get a 980ti and oc the cpu to 4.5ghz+ you still have a bottleneck but that is the absolute max gpu I would use with a fx

I have a brand new gtx1050 for sale and a amd FX-6300 that I've used for maybe 2 hours. I got a prebuilt and changed some parts out immediately. I also have a mobo but it's ddr3
