I would go for a sound bar man they are nice and cover a wide range

Having a sub with your speakers is always better you get better sound quality from speakers that dont do built in base that being said if you could connect these and your current sub, soundbar setup togethor you could get a great audio experience for movies and such without bothering the neighbors
