Doing an AMD Athlon 64 X2 build because a bundle was like £15 on ebay and I'm bored, and I have a spare case. Retro build, here I come.

I have loads of old mobos and cpus, I want to do something with them but not sure what... what o/s will you be using?

Maybe XP if the BIOS supports USB booting.

Ok cool, have you got any experience with Linux? I've playing with Ubuntu and the like but can't get on with them. Might try XP with my builds see how they run.

I run Linux on my laptop full time and occasionally throw it onto my main desktop. One thing I like about Linux is being able to basically run the latest versions of everything, whereas on XP you're using stuff that nobody wants to support anymore.

That is very true, support is now obsolete for the old windows o/s... I might give it another go.
