Anyone here know where I can find a GPU for the pre-mining price? Idec if they're illegal knockoffs at this point, I'm just broke and want my computer to still have acceptable performance.

You really can't most prices are up buy a good 20-50% compared to the pre-mining boom prices of late spring 2017. Buy used or try to find a deal. The prices are on a down curve so if you can wait till late autumn or early winter, you will be able to nab a card for the "real" price.
